ABOUT ME
I am an award-winning NCTJ qualified journalist, a writer and author with a degree in Philosophy.
I have written numerous articles for The Guardian, The Observer, I Paper, The Times, The Telegraph, The Independent, Breathe magazine and Woman’s Own……
I have been interviewed on BBC TV News, BBC Radio Wales with Lynn Bowles, London Radio by Paul Ross and BBC Asian Network.
My profile of my farmer friend, Wilf Davies, published in The Guardian- Experience: 'I’ve had the same supper for 10 years.’ was the 13th most shared article in 2021.
This was made into a short documentary called, ‘Heart Valley’, directed by Christian Cargill, written and co-produced by myself, and supported by Pulse Films.
It premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2022 and won ‘Best Short Documentary’. It is streaming on the BBC iPlayer & The New Yorker website.
My book, ‘I Can Hear The Cuckoo’, published by Octopus/Hachette, was released 11 May 2023.
It’s a philosophical memoir about redefining family, nature, love, friendship, rebirth and renewal, and respecting the timing and the rhythm of the earth. It’s a book about moving through grief and the people we find in the midst of our sadness - and what a small community in the Welsh countryside can teach us about life.
My article, ‘A dirty secret called grief,’ published by the Guardian, is being used in university modules as part of the curriculum and in professional mental health environments.
I have also published interviews with household names such as Barry Humphries, Lenny Henry, Omid Djalili and Roger McGough.
